Mermaid Face (Day 81)

The other day nymphette had a calendar challenge theme I had post a nail polish for it. I did my makeup for it later in the day after I did my post about the polish. As you can see in the close up of my eye I had a lot of blue liner in the folds under my eye that was due to my eyes watering, I have a very light layer of cream liner but it has never made my eyes water so I do blaim it on my allergies which only affect my eyes. Sadly!
 I used:
MAC paint pot in Soft Ochre
Wet n' Wild Blue Had Me at Hello palette the Right eyelid color (lid)
Claries Palette for the rest of the colors.
QUO Mechanical liner in silver bullet (top lash line)
No name cream colored jumbo liner (waterline)
Jordana automatic liner in mint (lower lashline)
Rimmel Extra Super Lash in Black
Brows Covergirl trio in Chocolate Mouse the darkest brown
Face Covergirl Continous wear foundation in Natural Ivory
Mark Pressed powder in Matte Med
      Lips Yves Rocher Burnt Carmel

I did get dresses shortly after doing my makeup and did some grocery shopping. A few girls felt the need to stare and then laugh at me when I went into walmart. It upset me I felt like I had smeared my makeup. Later I was told by a casher that she loved my makeup and it looked great. Which comes to my next point. We are all different I get that, but don't laugh at someone because they don't wear convential colors of makeup. Or heavy liner(at least not in this look) or give themselves spider lashes with half a tube of mascara on their eyes. I love every color and I will wear every color. Maybe I just need to grow thicker skin. My mom informed me last night at easter dinner it takes dedication and practice to become a calouse hearted b!tc#.
Over all I am happy with my look.

Day 82- BonBon Deep Blue (52)

First off I want to say I'm sorry for how blurry this picture looks, but on a side note you can really see the metallic sheen of this polish. I didn't like how many coats I had to put on to make this polish opaque which in turn effected the dry time (explains the messy spot on the index finger). It did wear well even with 4 coats, making it a grand total of 6 coats (I always base and top coat m nails). It came off relatively easy considering the amount of polish.

There are so many pretty faces and fingers to ogle over in this challenge I don't want you'll to miss it. Go check them out here.

Day 83- Sally Girl Holo(51)

This is a beautiful polish I can't believe that this has gone so under loved in my colletion. I got this from Sally's beauty supply, it is one of their own polishes. One of those tiny bottles. The cap is a pain. Also taking this of is a pain. In the sun I loved this. I could really see the holo effect.

There are many others doing this challenge as well go see them here.

Until next time!

Day 84- So 70's by Sally Girl (50)

This polish is again a flop. Hmmm I think I see why they are not so popular now. I mean I got glitter and all just no base color really. On top of that it was a pain in my rear to take off. I think this polish is going to polish heaven as well. Sorry this is so short I'm so upset with it I really don't have a lot to say about it. It did wear well with it being mainly a glitter.

There are so many good makeup looks and nail art designs that are being shown by the others doing this challenge as well! Go check them out!
Until next time!

Day 85- Mermaid nails (49)

Nymphette is doing her calendar challenges again! YAY! Today happens to be mermaid. I still have interesting allergies so I was unable to do a makeup that would have rocked! So I'm doing another nail polish review. This is again a BonBon, I swear I was crazy about those itty bitty polishes back in the day. (I still have 13 more to swatch X( )I really do like this color. In the bottle it was a little more green but showed up very blue on my nails. Two coats to cover nicely, came off like a dream. I don't like how this bubbled on me. I remember turning of the fan and the AC was off as well. So I don't know what happened.

There are many more doing the 90 day challenge as well! Go see them here.

Day 86- BonBon Fail Blue (48)

So this is one of the worest polishes I have ever used in a really long time. Even after 4+ layers I can still see my natural nails. The glitter was sparse and a pain to try to get on my nails. It was also really hard to get off my nails! All in all I may just throw it out, it is a small polish paid only a dollar for it and so not really a big issue if I get rid of one polish.

On a side note I had thought I had lost this photo and a few other polish swatches so while my allergies are misbehaving Ill have a few polishes to show you. And I wont fall behind on my 90 day Challenge.

Also the others that are playing along can be found here. Go check them out. Show some lurve to them.

Until next time...

Day 87- OPI Mini swatch Take the Stage (47)

So todays challenge is a NOTD! Its a mini polish I got in a set for Christmas one year from my parents. I really like the color. Its what I call a micro shimmer/glitter. You can almost see the shape of the glitter but its so fine its opaque. It was also pretty easy to take off. As for the stamping. I can clearly see it on the light. At certain angles I can see it on the dark base. I 99.9% sure this is going under layerable for stamping. I felt sad taking this off but I had to, there are so many more sparkles to swatch!

There are a TON more people playing along in the 90 day challenge heres a link to find them all:

Day 88- For the Horde!

So I'm not sure if I shared this before or not but I love me some WoW! I have toons on both sides I have a main who is a goblin Shammy. I also happen to have a t-shirt with a horde shammy symbol on it curtisy of my friend. I was wearing it the day I did this look and didnt mean to match but I'll take it.
I used a claires palette again for the orange and copper and the black is from the large 100 palette from elf. A little Hard Candy and Wet nWild liner. 6 coats of mascara, reason for that many is cuz its the teleiscopic mascara and the brush is just this tiny ball of spikes. (I cant wait to finish this) Some Mary Kay Wild Rose blush. And an old fave Covergirl wetslicks gloss in patiently pink. And bam "FOR THE HORDE" look is ALIVE!
My eye sure looks green don't it. <3

The Others in the challenge with me.

Until next time...

Day 89- Soft Pink Mani (46)

So I have my mani for my challenge today! Its a swatch mani. I am still trying to work out how to do stamping. So I thought I could practice nail stamping and do my polish swatch and get a day in the challenge knocked out. Thats three birds one stone, and its a homerunner! Well, not so much but I feel awsome for getting so much that I wanted to do in one session. This little beauty is simple sweet and a REALLY nice spring color. I still can't stop looking at my fingers. The reason for the half black half white nail was to see if this color would show on light or dark polish when stamped. Its not bad on dark.
Here's my close up! Not a great stamp but not bad. I promise I'll get better at this stamping business if it kills me.

Day 90-Challenge myself further.

Hey everyone! So I signed myself up for a 90 Day blog post challenge. Basically I just post about LOTD/NOTD/EOTD, or anything beauty. Also since I am going out of town on may 30-june 7 I will be mostly posting swatches and stuff since I dont know how much time I will have to do more than a basic makeup.
I opened up my palette drawer and sitting on top was my Claire's maga palette. So when I chose my colors I went for the color that stood out most to me. The light blue, I accented with a deeper almost denim blue and a blue based purple. I used a wet and wild color icon eyeliner in blue sky for my lower lash liner and a bit of mascara. A dab of Mary Kays honey glaze as my highlight. I also applied maybelline mineral blush in gental pink and a little bit of a white and brown for my face highlight and contour. Both are from a no-name set I got as a gift one year. My lipgloss is a BonBon gloss that I got from walmart.

You can really see those hints of blue in my eye picking up the blue from the shadows.
Dont mind my blue lashes. I am trying to use up this blah mascara I can't remember what it is and the words have rubbed off.

There are other ladies participating in the Challenge, here are the links to their pretty faces:

Project Pan Update!

So its been three months since I started my project pan! I have actually used up a lot of products. A total of four, I think if I kept this up I would only get a few products used up.
 Used: Elf eyeshadow primer
               Buy Again: Yes!
          Maybelline The Falsies Mascara
                Buy Again: No
Replaced with: Hard Candy EyeShadow primer
                        Rimmel Extra Super Lash
Used: Covergirl liquid to powder foundation in Classic Ivory
               Buy Agian: No

Replaced with: Covergirl Continuous Wear in Natural Ivory

Used: Maybelline Expert Eyes Trio in Chocolate mousse in the Highlight

Black on Black by Sinful Colors(45)

So I have a new polish review here for ya!
This beaut is Black on Black by Sinful Colors. It's a simple black cream color, opaque in 1 coat but I'm a 2 color coat kind of girl. I also just joined a nail stamping group and last weeks challenege was Black and white. I will be honost this is horrible compared to some of the other manis. My only defence is this was my first stamp on my self. I have done it on paper and other people but not my self. This also came of fairly easy and no staining. Thats a good basic to have in my opinion.

Love Me Long Time

So back in the day of getting up at 7am, horrible acne, and even worse self image, I had a teacher who really helped me to see the better side of myself. He handed out hand mirrors and dry erase markers to everyone. We all gave him a look that said, "Seriously? You trying to say we have something on our faces?" A few of the girls used them to touch up their lipgloss. The boys just fiddled with it and I flipped it over so I couldn't see myself. We were working on a self esteem portion and he wanted to use this as an opertunity to help us build our self esteem. First he had us write down things we saw in the mirror on the mirror. Most of it was negative. He told us to look closer and replace every negative thing on it with a postive thing, something that we like about our selves, it didn't have to be physical we can write things that we liked about our personality as well. To make a long story short, I felt ten times better about myself when I left than when I had walked into the class an hour earlier.
I had wiped the mirror clean at the end of class, I wish I hadn't now but the blank mirror was calling to me. I had been in a particular blue mood and I really needed a pick me up. I grabbed that old mirror that had helped me so long ago and an old eyeliner(it will wipe of the mirror) and did the same thing I had done on that day, in fourth period health class with Mr Teasely.
This is a picture of what I came up with, I feel just as good about myself now as I had when I left class.
So now I pass this on to you. Look in the mirror and write all of the things that are good about yourself. When you are feeling low and are having self doubt write the things that you feel are good about your self. Sometimes you may need a loved one to write the first thing to get you started, but eventually you'll find the good in yourself. Remember to always love yourself, you are beautiful just the way you are!

Polish Be Gone

Well I did it. I finished a bottle of polish! Woot woot. I have like 5 bottles of used top coat. I would lose one and buy another and then lose the new one. I have now found all of those half used bottles of top coat. I had been using the Sally Hansen Super Shine for about 2 months now and it had finally got below the brush. So I dumped what was left in to my next almost used top coat. If I was smart I would have kept the bottle for frankening my own polish ;) But I didn't it went in the garbage. Oh well, I do feel proud of myself for finishing another beauty product. From now on I get to use Orly Top2Bottom polish. I found it was crap for a base coat but made really pretty shiney nails as a top coat.

Have you guys used up any products so far?

Until next time...

Nail Swatches: BonBon and Sally Girl (38-44)

I have been active in keeping my nails painted and I had every intention of showing you guys everytime. I dont know what happened so I'm giving you a huge dose of pretty polish.

This beauty is again a BonBon. It is a little shear but in this case I for some reason really like the two toned affect I had going on. The lasting ability was not so great at three days.
This jelly like polish happens to be from Sallys Beauty Supplies line. Its called surfs up, I loved the color in the bottle and was hoping for a more opaque version of what I got. This was 3 coats and as you can see it takes longer than normal to dry. On a side note it did last 4 days, even on the ruff nails.
This Glitter polish is again a BonBon. This looks on the nails exactly as it does in the bottle. It was a good solid polish as far as chipping went and lasted 4-5 days. I also tried later on to see if I could get a more solid version, all I got was a nice thick coat of polish and not much more coverage.
This BonBon was a huge disappointment to me. I was looking at this as a beautiful duo-chrome mini polish. Its a gray based just like the Wet n Wild Grays Anatomy. I have seen that so many love it and at the time I didn't have the funds for it. I also keep forgetting to pick it up when I do. The duo-chrome is only visable in the sunlight and sadly my camara didn't want to show you.
This little baby is such a sweet pink color. I think I would love it if it was just a tad bit more opaque. Also the glitter wasn't bad to remove. A three day mani for me.
I promise this is a completely different pink. This BonBon has a slight gold undertone and larger glitter than the one above. Also this is a shade lighter and was harder to capture the true color as it blended in nicely with my pink tones.
I know this polish is really hard to see, but its a light green glitter from BonBon. I think this will make a great top coat for an extra sparkle but by its self its just not enough. I have like four coats on here. I took the picture at a funny angle trying to capture the sparkle but it was not my night for good pictures I guess.

I hope I didn't over load on the polishes. I just have been a little busy but I still like to try to keep my nails pretty even if my face is bare.

Until next time...

Black and White NTMS challenge.

So a few weeks ago we had our weekly challenge like every week. The only thing different was the theme and my choice to participate in it. Theme: Black and White! I wore this combo so much in high school when I actually wore more than liner and/or mascara; even then that was not a regular occurance.
I used a lot of products, but I only did my eyes.
Stella Starish Cosmetics: Rocket and Light Year.
L'oreal: White Frost and Raven
Hard Candy Take Me Out Eyeliner: Abyss
Wet n' Wild Color Icon Liner: White
Remmil Super Lash Blast: Blackest Black

I love this combo its so simple and classy yet adds enough drama to draw attention to my eyes.

Until next time...

The Show Must Go On by OPI (37)

Sparkle, Sparkle, Sparkle; Oh how I love thee. This is one of my best sparkly polishes. Its a mini polish I got for Christmas like a year ago.(I know thats a long time to finally review a polish) I fount that this was so easy to remove and yet caught the light in so many glittery ways.
This lasted for 4 days and chipped due to water damage. I liked the application. It was a little thin on the first coat but I was able to make it opaque in a second coat.

Darling Girl Order!

My whole order. I got 2 samples and a Blush as a GWP. The Darling Ghoul is on the left and the Pretty Mistakes are on the right.
My Pretty mistakes make me drool. I felt bad removing the swatches.
The Gifts with Purchas. I got she bop, Vicar in a Tutu, and Doll face!

 Candy Corn Pixie dust.

This is extremely pick heavy. I got so much for so little. I love ordering from Susan, I feel super spoiled when I wear her pretties. Everything is so very pigmented that I feel like I should be paying way more for her stuff then I do. I order two collections. I got the Darling Ghoul Collection of shadows but now I'm thinking I need some of her lippies as well. I also got a petite set of the Pretty Mistakes. I LOVE these. I need to use them more.  Also she does not offer witch's brew which is part of the Darling Ghoul collection and she gave me Jeweled Toupe in its place!

Until next time...

New Years off to a good start.

Hey everyone,

I'm diverting from the makeup and nails for this post. I have some really good stuff to talk about and some not so good stuff but thats life. I'll kind of start from the beginning. I really needed a change of pase for this year. I had done so good for myself academically last year that I really wanted to change myself professionally this year.
I finally found a salon that I'm happy in. I the kind of person that is a loyalist and I will stick something out until I get burned even when I know I need to break away. I was a little hisitant at first because I found the job listed on craigslist. I looked up the salon and found I was interested in the product. NO FUMES. Say it with me ladies. I can't tell you how awsome it is not to breath in that harsh color fumes, and I've done quite a bit of color already for only being there three weeks. We went through an intire order of color in a week. Before she got away with ordering every few weeks. I am finally earning my way again. I don't feel like such a lazy punk kid anymore and I feel like I have a purpose again, and not just a hope and dream. I know that I normally go to work with no clients on the books but I always go home with having done at least one client a day. I get the hands-on education that I have been craving. Yes I'm a bit of a klutz but I still get a sense of accomplishment everytime a client goes home happy.
I used to look at life as a grey tunnel. I had no bright moments to make me feel happy but I wasnt having a hard time either. I was just existing. I hate that feeling. the feeling of not really truely feeling anything. I never want to be there again. I have been taking steps like finding a job to help stay away from that  monogamy. Makeup is a bright place for me. I enjoy doing my makeup and then when I'm done I was back to the grey tunnel. I invite you to get out of your own grey tunnels and to take the steps you need to find the light place. The place of contentment and general happiness that I feel, even when I'm pmsing and dont want to be bothered.
I did get hit with a scam, but I'm moving on from that. I would love to do more photoshoots. Unfortantly I already have a full schedule with work and school (I'm working on a business degree now.). I would love to get back on stage and to act again. I would love to work backstage doing hair and makeup for the shows I dont get casted in. I still have a lot of wants and desires that I want to fufill. I also know that I can only take one day at a time. So far each day has left me tired and waking up with a smile on my face.
I would say my year is getting off to a great start. How about you?

Scamed!

Today is a post I am sad to post about. I have been the target of a scam. I was contacted via third party and I responded to it via email. I asked basic questions. I.E. Location, date, time, Model skin tone, and compensation. I wouldn't minded if I was paid in photos to use for my portfolio. I'm new and I have only done a few shoot.

I got this as a reply:

Grimm Collaboration P.2

Yay, a new addition for the Grimm Series. My episode was about Satyrs and in the show the "bad guy" was blue with a beard. I really didn't want to turn myself into a man. So I decided to do my look based on the little frogs he ate to make his feramones stronger. The frogs had a beautiful green body and red/pink feet.
I had been so excited to do this look. I wanted to try an new technique that I had seen Blix, the moonmaiden use a lot. I think I need more practice but over all I'm happy for my first attempt at it.

 Products Used:
       EYES:
Elf Eyelid Primer
Alexeter Mineral Eyeshadow (Romp)
My Beauty Addiction (Rumors)
Elf Liquid Eyeliner (Black)
Hard Candy Take Me Out Eyeliner (Abyss)

Also this is a collaboration with T over at Mineral and Mascara Junkie. Here is her look on the episode Beeware.

Blurple by BonBon (36)

So I was going through my polish collection and found that I have a ton of mini polishes. I figured I go review these figuring that they most likely won't be that great seeing as they are only a dollar. I was blown away by the quality of this polish.

Review 5 /10

Dry Speed: 1 point- It dried nice, no faster than most polishes.
Application: 1 point- It went on streaky the first coat and for the most part the second coat got rid of the streaks.
Price: 1 point- For a dollar you feel like your getting a steal but then compaired to an NYC which is 13 cents cheaper for a full bottle it's hard to buy these unless you know that you don't wear polishes that much. These will only last for 3-5 full manicures.
Wear: 1 point- I got three days of wear with no top coat. Now that is good.
Opaque: 1 point- This polish covered well enough with two coats.

Until next time...

NTMS Lunar Eclipse

This weeks challenge is Lunar Eclipse. I think this was a lot of fun. I was able to break out my molten metals from My Beauty Addiction. I finally found a good use for smolder shadow that is a pain to work with dry but made an excellent liner for this look. I was going for warmth on the outside crease area as well as on the lash line. From pictures that I have seen of lunar eclipses there was a lot of red from the sun.
 Products used:
        FACE:
Covergirl Liquid to Powder Foundation (Classic Ivory)
Mark Matte Powder (Medium)
        EYES:
Elf Mineral Eye Primer (Natural)
Maybelline Eyeshadow Trio (Chocolate Mouse)
Elf Cream Liner (Midnight)
I <3 Matte Palette (Matte Black)
Hot Topic Liner (Red)
My Beauty Addiction Molten Metals (Smolder) w/ Elf Mist and Set
Hard Candy Take Me out Liner (Abyss)
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara (Black Drama)
Eye Closed I applied the molten metal wet and at first it was reallu coppery, but it turned true to color as it dried.
Until next time...

New Hair!

Hey everyone! So as you can tell from the title I did my hair again. Only this time I'm a red head. Not sure how I feel about it. When I was younger I wanted red hair so bad. Now that I'm a cosmetologist I know the kind of up keep this will take. But seeing as this isn't much lighter than my natural hair I think I'll be okay. I also have golden highlights to make my hair more natural looking. It's going to take some getting used to but I like it for the most part. I'm suppose to be getting my hair cut on Tuesday. I think once thats done I'll feel better about the color on me.

So what do you think? Should I go back to the blonde or stay with the red for a bit?

Until next time...
