Nail Swatch: 812001 by Sally Girl (13)

I saw this polish and I just loved it. Also I started a blog for beauty, fashion and health. If ya'll want to check it out go do so. trinitydesigns89.blogspot.com.
Review 7/10
Dry Speed: 2 points- I had no wait time for drying really. About the fastest drying polish ever.
Application: 1 point- I love how small the brush is but not how small the top was. It was a pain to hold on to.
Price:2 points- These polishes go for $.99 can't beat that.
Wear: 2 points- I got 4 days wear before I noiced chipping. I also looked for it since this was so sheer.
Opaque: 0 points- This polish was so sheer its hard to be happy. I did love the the shine it gave in the light. So this will be used as a top coat but still was hoping for more of an opaque color.

Until next time...

Until next time...

Anemic? Ways to help

So today I'm bring you info on foods that will help ur anemia and will help you feel better naturally. Anemia is the lack of hemoglobin in our blood, hemoglobin is what the oxygen is attracted to in our blood cells. There are many kinds of anemia, but for today I want to focus on iron deficiency anemia. Iron is used to create hemoglobin, so absorbing the correct amount everyday is very important.
The amount we need:
males 19+ and postmenopausal women need 8mg per day
women 19-50 need 18mg per day
Pregnant women need 27mg of iron everyday.
This can seem like a lot but really its not. Cook spinach has a 3 and 1/2 times more iron in it once its been cooked but it also contains oxalic acid which inhibates the absorption of iron. There is a way to fix this though. The Vitamin we all know as the kick cold's butt vitamin is also used to absorbe iron. That's right Vitamin C is what we need to increase the amount of iron we take in.
Two types of iron are heme iron and Non-heme iron. Heme iron is a lot easier to absorbe its found in animal products such as eggs, meat, and liver. (i hate the texture of liver but it tastes the same as regular beef other wise) Non-heme iron is usually an additive to processed foods and is a lot harder to absorbe.
Top 10 Foods that are full of iron
  • Red meat
  • Egg yolks
  • Dark, leafy greens (spinach, collards)
  • Dried fruit (prunes, raisins)
  • Iron-enriched cereals and grains (check the labels)
  • Mollusks (oysters, clams, scallops)
  • Turkey or chicken giblets
  • Beans, lentils, chick peas and soybeans
  • Liver
  • Artichokes
Add fruit that is full of vitamin C and your good to go. Most people would tell you to just take a pill but i love food so much and i think that eating foods and learning ways to making healthy food is way better then just some ole pill any day.

Nail Swatch: Cosmic Violet by Petites (12)

So I got this for a convention to match a dress I wore. I have had this polish for like 5 years so it my explain the wear time...
Review 7/10
Dry Speed- 2 point: This dried really fast I really couldnt mess it up.
Application- 1 point: the Brush was skinny so that was good, but I feltthat it was way too long and gave me less control.
Price: 2 points- These run about $2 so thats good, same as my Sinfuls.
Wear: 0 points- I got like 24 hours wear before it started chipping, but this is old.
Opaque- 2 points: Could have gotten away with one coat.

Until next time...

Nail Swatch: Holy Pink! Pagoda by OPI (11)

This is one of my first OPI's. I think it's so pretty. I won it in an aution using my cosmo cash. We get 100 cc for doing things above and beyond the call of duty. A friend and I didnt have enough to get a big ticket item by our selfs so we combined cash and divided the prizes. I got this polish and a body wash and luffa. This review is a little harsh for you OPI lovers but its the truth and this affects on this color not the whol brand.
Review 5/10
Dry Speed: 1 point- Dried ok but i had to remove it on a few nails cuz i damaged them while they were drying.
Application: 1 point- I have worlds littlest hands and nails ever. So the big brush that comes with OPI is way to big for me and makes for a lot of clean up. But no streaks.
Price: 2 points- I got it for free technically we paid 800cc for it in the auction.
Wear:0 points- Sad to say that this color does not last more then 3 days before I have to take it off. I was hoping for at least 5 days but oh well.
Opaque: 1 point- first coat was a little sheer and the 2nd coat fixed but still it's an OPI... if i had paid for this which is about 4.50 at my local pro shop then i want my moneys worth and OPI is suppose to be the best.

Until next time...

Nail Swatch: Rising Star by OPI (10)

so this is the first of my nail polish swatchs. this is Rising Star by OPI. it is so very pretty. i love oh orange it is but its very glitzy. it looks like a metalic, there is no glitter and is very easy to come off. in the first pick if you look close enough you make see the little design i did on my ring finger with the konad. i have really little hands and so m nails are little, the nails were longer but i washed the dishes and of course they desided to break on me... so the are super short.
9/10
dry speed: 1 points- i had to wait what seemed like forever it kept scraping off the plate for some strange reason
application: 2 points- this had a nice sized brush if i had bigger nails id love it but due to my lack of size i did have to clean up a bit.
price: 2 point- i got it on sale... oh ya thats right i paid 4.00 for this bad boy... i was so happy cuz the store that i got it at sells OPI for 7.00
wear: 2 points- i wore this to the new years bash in Orlando and i had been drinking... its my first New years being old! and im a light wieght so this did chip but it happened when i went to grab a drink and i was pushed and my hand hit the table.
color: 2 points- coats and i was good to go... oh and i had no top coat on either... so that might have helped.
Until Next time...

Nail Swatch: Emerald Fitzgerald by China Glaze (9)

This is a swatch of Emerald fitzgerald from the vintage vixen collection by china glaze. i love this color so much its a very deep teal like color. it has a shimmer to it.
rating 9/10
Dry speed- 2 points: it dryed really fast for me once i put the sache vite top coat on it
application-1 point: i found that on the first coat is was a little streaky and it started glop on the brush which is weird cuz ive used this polish a total of 2 times
price- 2points: i got this on sale for 3.50 instead of paying the 4.99
wear- 2 points: i have yet to get a chip in my polish and i took a shower after putting this on...
opaque- 2 points: it streaked with one coat but it was fixed after second coat was applied.

Until next time...

Nail Swatch: 812059 by Sally Girl (8)

Today i choose to do a swatch on a Sally girl polish i got on sale a long time ago. Ipaid .50 which is great even with an orginal price of .99, i have the student discount card for being in cosmetology student which means i never pay more then .50 for thier polish anyways.
Review 8/10
Dry speed- 2 points: this dried really fast especially after i applied my Sache Vite.
Application- 1 point: The first coat was streaky, as well as the polish was a little thin/watery. after second coat it went away.
Price- 2 points: Cant beat .99
Wear- 1 points: Made it through a shower and cleaning my room. :) But felt kind of thick
Opaque-2 points: The color was very pigmented and matched bottle in 2 coats.

I had painted over the ring finger with Pinky Glitter before I remembered to take a picture of the polish on my hand.

Until next time...

Nail Swatch: Jingle Bells by China Glaze (7)

About a month ago i stooped at CosmoProf which is a cosmetology pro and student shop. Iwent looking for China Glaze's Matte Magic top coat, for matte finish to my nail polish. While the lady was in the back looking for it i saw a kit of polishes from china glase's holiday 2010 collection, for 15.99. i couldn't pass it up so i got it. One of the colors was Jingle Bells. I liked the color but had a few problems.
Review 8/10
Dry Speed- 0 points: It literally took me forever to have the polish dry. Especially my right hand. Im not happy about the smudges and dents i got while it was drying.
Application- 2 points: Went on great. 2 coats like normal and i go the color of the bottle.
Price- 2 points: 3.20 a bottle plus i got a pretty necklace. Orignal price 4.99
Wear- 2 points: Even with all the dents i got from drying it didnt chip.
Opaque- 2 points: 2 coats as normal

Until next time...

Nail Swatch: Golden Child by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear (6)

I was working on my Konad project when i saw my sally hansen Golden Child polish. I love the warm golden yellow color as well as he glitter in it. It is so fun and glittery, it would have made the perfect color for New Years all by its self.
Review 10/10
Dry Speed: 2 points- Dried really fast and i put up kinda thick coats just so i could get more glitter on my nail.
Application: 2 points- went on smooth and clean.
Price: 2 points- was ok. i paid full price but it's still wasy less then china glaze or OPI.
Wear: 2 points- understand that i am only wearing this for polish for a day. So if i have a chip on the first day then it loses all points. No chips so it's good to go.
Color: 2 points- i just have to say that i love this color. i love the 3 kinds of glitter it has. there is a great shimmer, then there is little square glitter, and there is rectangular confetti in it. i was afraid that it might be oranger, and its not. im very happy. if it had turned out oranger it would have looked very simular to a color i already have.

Until next time...

Nail Swatch: Peace on Earth by China Glaze (5)

Today i tried out Peace on Earth by China Glaze. It was part of a set of Hoilday polishes i got. If it hadn't been part of the set i doubt i would have gotten it. Its a shimmery olive color. My mom said it looked like baby poo on my nails.
Review 6/10
Dry Speed: 2 points- dried well
Application: 1 point- first coat was sheer, and then the polish seemed to gunk up towards the end.
Price: 2 points- Got it on sale so that kind of helps
Wear: 0 points- Took a shower this morning and as you can see 2 nails chipped.
Opaque: 1 point- 1st coat was really sheer, applied 2nd coat thick to get it opaque plus it was a little streaky... wish the shimmer was a bit stronger.

Until Next time...

Nail Swatch: Winter Wine by Milani (4)

I loved this color when i first got it. I picked it up on the fly. I had never tried milani, i just really liked the color.
Review 8/10
Dry Speed: 1 point- Even with my sache vite top coat it took a while to dry.
Application: 1 point- i felt that the brush was way too long. But the bristles spread well for me so i was able to get full coverage in 2 swipes
Price:2 points- i cant remember exactly the amount but it was like $4.00 which wasnt bad for me.
Wear: 2 points- oce it was dry it held up.
Opaque: 2 points- it was great as far as color. the color was very intense and may be able to get away with a single coat.

Until next time...

Nail Swatch: Digital Milani 3D holographic (3)

I got this in a target haul not to long ago.i wanted to paint my nails and this is what i used.
Review 8/10
Dry Speed: 1 point- dried as normal.
Application: 2 points- Went on smooth and no streaks.
Price: 1 point- I paid full price and for a grocery/drugstore type polish 4.25 is a little pricey.
Wear: 2 points- the polish didnt really chip. My base coat is from Orly and so rubbery that the polish will peel in one peice.
Opaque: 2 points- This will be great for spring because it is such a light pink. I was thinking that maybe this would be a bit brighter but thats ok with me.
Over all a good color/polish

Until next time...

Nail Swatch: Soul Mate by Sinful Colors (2)

I personally love Sinful Colors nail polish. Ive heard they also sell cosmetics but I have personally used only the nail polish.
Review 9/10
Dry Speed: 2 points- Normal speed about a min and no heavy or crazy things with my hands.
Application: 2 points- Fairly easy, medium round brush. This color is a little runny but I just made sure to wipe off the brush a little more when pulling it from the jar.
Price: 2 points- Amazing price $2. sometimes on sale for .99$
Wear: 1 point- I got a full 48 hours with out damage but water is my enemie. it survived my showers but not the shampoo bowls at school.
Opaque: 2 points- Two coats to match bottle. Its a pretty soft pink.

Until next time...

Nail Swatch: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Fireberry Red

This color is from a collection Sally put out over the winter. I have 4 or 5 from the set that I know of and I remember seeing a Navy color still at my local walgreens.
Review 7/10
Dry Speed- 2 points: dried fast for me I didnt have a single mark from moving while it was drying.
Application: 1 point- Bleeds bad, what I mean is that once it was applied to my nail it spread. So I had to clean my nails up a lot.
Price: 2 point- Got it on sale for BoGo 1/2 off. So I paid like 3.50 for both.
Wear: 1 point- I got a few days out of it before it started chiping, but if your break a nail forget it. The polish is ruined.
Opaque: 1 point- I thought the color was going to be deeper. After 2 coats it was still really sheer in places.
