Haul: Nails and Make-up (pic heavy)

So this is way old and I have been lacking on posting my hauls. Mainly because I'm busting my butt at school so I can pass in 3 weeks. And now I am super behind on posting, so it may feel like im posting no stop for a few days trying to catch up a little

Anyways I got these at walgreens so I could use up a coupon I got. I saw that the HIP was BOGO 1/2 off. so I got 2 and this polish for like 5 bucks and some change.

Then I stopped at sally's and got some nail stuff. The wheels are for my polish/art and the brushes are cuz you can never have to many of those. and they are super pretty. I also picked up so Dr G's clear nail. I was using it like it said to for like 3 weeks and then i forgot about it with all this stuff going on with my accedent and stuff like that. Going to get back on the ball. If you wondering I smashed my thumb in a door when i was 2 and it was never the same. Its super ugly. I was told to use this until it was all gone and my nail should be back to normal. I'll let you know how that goes.

Until next time...

Nail Swatch: Buckley by Icing (21)

I got this as a gift. It was a few years ago, but sat on my shelf and then all this craze came out about nude polish. This was sitting twiddling its thumbs (figuratively speaking)  waiting for the day i used it for more than just as a paper weight.
Review 6/10
Dry Speed: 2 points- Dried fast and I was able to do my daily functions without any waiting time.
Application: 1 point- Found it to be streaky. The brush was a little long for my personal prefrence.
Price: 2 points- It was a gift, can't beat that :)
Wear: 0 points- Only 2 days wear, before it chipped
Opaque: 1 point- streaky but resolved with a 2nd coat.

Until next time...

Contest entry! #2

So I entered another contest. Thats right another! Only this time its a fairy themed contest. I found out from the chick who is hosting the high fashion contest. I tried to do a fire fairy but i really dont have a lot of pigmented shadows, and most of this was done with eyeshadow. Even the gold on my checks is from a wet n wild trio, not what I had in mind when i did this but a lot better then my fears.
The girl whoe is hosting the fairy contest is:

So I know this picture is not the most flattering but it shows the most detail out of all of the pics I took. So this is a big deal for me. I am entering/have entered my first make-up contest. Savannah is doing a high fashion/runway inspired look. I choose high fashion. I loved this look as soon as i saw it. So here is my attempt at it. Ill link the page where you can check out Savannah and maybe enter her contest if you hurry.

Nail Swatch: Mummy May I by China Glaze (20)

This polish is from the Awakening Collection they put out at Halloween 2010. I was able to get 2 of the 3 polishes. The orange one must have been really popular because i couldnt find it in three different sally's stores.

Review 5/10
Dry Speed: 2 points- Ok so try this, I swear by my licensure (and its my livelyhood) that this polish was drying as i put it on.
Application: 0 points- Ok so I had so much trouble. The polish was drying too fast and the glitter liked to pool in spots on my nail.
Price: 2 points- Got this on sale for like $3.00 cant but love that.
Wear: 0 points- I got 1 day because of water damage. ugh! Sometimes i hate my job.
Opaque: 1 point- I had trouble getting the color to stick to my nail/base coat. But the 2nd coat was way better.

Until next time...

Nail Swatch: Sunny Side Up by Wet n' Wild Wild Shine (19)

This polish strangely reminds me of mac n cheese. My boyfriend said I was dressed for halloween, because i was still in my school uniform which is all black. n had orange nails. I also got in a car accendent that same night and the EMT's who took me to the hospital said my nails matched the strapes they used to keep me on the board. That was the tale of this nail polish.

Review 6/10

Dry Speed- 2 points: I felt like this dried super fast. I dont know why though.
Application- 1 point: the first coat went on really streaky and then went away after the second coat.
Price - 2 points: these are only a dollar, they are so cheap.
Wear- 0 points: this only lasted 2 days. i noticed chips once the EMT said something about them matching.
Opaque- 1 point: Streaky but cureable and did cover nail in two coats.

Until next time...

Nail Swatch: Out of this World by Orly (18)

This polish is part of the Cosmic FX collection. I think this is really pretty but not what i thought.
Reveiw 5/10
Dry Speed- 1 point: Dried normal
Application- 1 point: I found the first coat to be really streaky. And the Glitter liked to pile together in spots on my nail.
Price- 2 points: I got this on sale for like $4.00
Wear- 0 points: I onlu got 2 days wear and it didnt really hold up in water. Also being such a dark color chips were easy to notice.
Opaque- 1 point: It streaked on the first coat and took up to 3 coats to fully cover the nail and the streaks. Also i thought the glitter was going to have more color range like it did in the bottle but it was a flat-ish color. Also it was a pain to remove the glitter.

Until next time...

Nail Swatch: Green Glow in the Dark by Hot Topic (17)

I saw that a few people were looking for Glow in the Dark nail polish that was cheep and worked. I found out that Hot topic sells it year round. So I got some in two colors to test them out. They do work, the glow shows up much better in person than it does in photo.

Review 6/10
Dry Speed: 1 point- It dried normal no big difference in speed compared to other polishes.
Application: 1 point- I hated the top. It was way to hard to hold onto.
Price: 2 points- $3 a bottle is not bad. I've paid less and I've paid more for polish.

Wear: 0 points- I only got one day wear out of this polish. Which is fine I would never wear this polish for more then a day anyways. (halloween)
Opaque: 2 points: Im going to give this a bonus point because the glow in the dark part worked. Other then that it was super sheer in the daylight. You may not be able to see my nails glowing in pic 4 but i found if you look straight at it or kind of from up top, my nails do show up.

Until Next time...

First MAC ever!

I have the most amazing boyfriend ever. We had planned to go to the beach but we couldn't find a parking space so we went to the mall instead. I wanted to find a dress for our dinner out with a work buddy of his. As we were walking through the mall I saw a MAC counter and i had never been to a MAC anything before so i asked if we could stop and look. I also wanted to find out what skin tone i was with them so while i was being fitted my boyfriend had gone and bought this glitter for me. i had pointed out that i really like this. out of the whole Wonder Woman collection. Needless to say when i found this at the bottom of the bag I jumped on him i was so happy.  Like i said before i have the most amazing boyfriend ever even if he said he was going to limit his mall visits with me from then on.
